HEMP
Still have some concerns about the wondrous world of hemp? Well let's get to the bottom of them.
Hemp is a low THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) cannabis plant that is jam packed with nutrient dense seeds.
Hemp can also be used to make clothing, plastic, paper, construction materials, biofuel and rope, it has over 25,000 different uses. Although it is a part of the cannabis family, hemp is completely legal to consume in Australia and can not get you high.
No, Hemp will definitely not get your dog high. The chemical compound that is required to cause any kind of high, THC, is in such a low percentage (0.005% to be exact) in all of our products that your dog will not get high. What they will be high on is all of the health benefits of adding Field Day to your dogs meal time.
Absolutely! The Australian government is completely onboard with hemp and its awesome benefits, which is why it became legal for humans and dogs alike to consume in 2017.
Hemp and Marijuana do come from the same cannabis family, although you could compare them cousins instead of twins; same family but very different!
Marijuana is known for having large amounts of something called tetrahydrocannabinol, otherwise known as THC. This is the psychoactive component of the plant that people refer to as a ‘high',
Hemp on the other hand, contains less than 0.3% of THC. This amount is so little that it has been deemed safe by the Australian government to consume without having to worry about receiving any of its brothers' side effects.
Hemp Seed Oil is made from the nutrient dense seeds of the hemp plant whereas CBD Oil is made from the leaves and stalk of the hemp plant. The Hemp Seed Oil contains less than 0.0075% (75mg/kg) of CBD and doesn't contain any of the benefits associated with CBD.
Hemp Seed Oil is used as a food product to increase your essential fatty acid update, whereas CBD Oil is used for medical purposes.
Right here in Australia! We only use Australian grown hemp and work with a network of farmers around our country to produce the highest quality hemp for your table.
We sustainably farm our hemp and currently have organic crop trails running. Unfortunately, we aren’t organically certified but we remain observant and careful as to what our crops are sprayed with.
SUPPLEMENT
We have designed and tested the Field Day range to be used specifically for dogs. If you have a cat or another furry friend you would love to be included in the Field Day range please let us know via email hello@fielddaypet.com.au
The Field Day toppers are designed for dogs over the age of 12 weeks, so they are not suitable for puppies.
The recommended doses are listed on the label of each supplement. Since these recipes contain active ingredients, we do not recommend exceeding these doses.
We recommend that it is combined with your dog’s main meal. If you feed your dog multiple times, divide the recommended dosage across each meal.
The Field Day toppers are suitable for long-term feeding and will boost the nutrition of your dog’s diet for however long you include them in your dog's regular meals.
You certainly can. The Field Day Toppers are designed to be added to whatever food your dog normally eats. Simply spray or sprinkle your chosen topper onto your dogs meal before you serve it.
Some dogs may resist diet changes. We recommend slowly introducing the toppers into your dogs diet , by giving them a half dose fro the first 4 weeks so they can get used to them.
Hot Tip: If you are feeding your dog a dry meal, moisten the food and the topper with a small amount of water to make it easier for your dog to eat.
Hemp oil is a good source of polyunsaturated oils and has a favourable ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6. This nutritious oil can be added alongside any of the Field Day toppers.
All toppers are safe to give on their own, or in combination with each other, at the recommended dose. If you choose to combine different toppers, you can give half the recommended dose of each with a meal, or you can give one topper with breakfast and a different one with dinner.
There is nothing in the Cool, Calm & Collected topper that should cause sedation or drowsiness, however, every dog is an individual and different reactions to diets, medications or supplements are always possible. If you have any concerns about your dog’s response to the Anxiety product, you should stop giving the product and discuss your concerns with your veterinarian.
All ingredients in all of the toppers are nutritious whole food ingredients, so giving more than the recommended dose is very unlikely to cause any harm. All ingredients have a wide margin of safety. However, the toppers do contain soluble and insoluble fibre (especially The Balancing Act topper), and feeding a very large amount of fibre may cause mild, transient gastrointestinal signs like soft stools, flatulence or bloating.
Therefore, following the recommended dosing per day is advisable.
Toppers and treats do also contain calories, so it is important to account for this and to monitor your dog’s body weight and body condition, otherwise excess weight gain may occur.
There is a slight fishy smell in the ‘The Balancing Act’ and ‘Cool, Calm Collected’ products
These toppers contain seafood-derived ingredients that are a powerful source of essential fatty acids. Dogs usually love the smell and the taste of these wholefood ingredients.
Our ‘Mover & Shaker’ topper contains inulin- a natural prebiotic that promotes a healthy gut microbiome.
Since all treatment is individual, we recommend that you discuss this with your dog’s vet.
